Only acting head of SDMK runs for Mufti post
Only one candidate, the current leader of the Muslims of Kyrgyzstan, runs for the post of Mufti. Information was confirmed by the Spiritual Directorate of the Muslims of Kyrgyzstan.
According to it, the meeting of the Ulema Council took place the day before, and it became known that the candidate for the post of Mufti Niyazaly Aripov wrote a statement that he withdrew his candidacy.
«We could not find out why he wrote the statement," the press service of SDMK said.
Recall, on April 4 Bishkek will host the kurultai of all Muslims of Kyrgyzstan where the Mufti elected by the Ulema Council is to be approved.
