The EEU countries introduce a mandatory prior notification of goods imported by airplanes, the State Customs Service of Kyrgyzstan recalled.

The decision of the board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) was adopted on December 1, 2015. Preliminary information on imported goods shall be submitted to the customs office of a country whose territory is the place of arrival of goods, by the carrier importing by air, or other person acting on behalf of the carrier.

Preliminary information is used by customs officers to pre-select objects, forms of customs control and measures to ensure control before the goods arrive in the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union. The notification is also necessary for the preparation of decisions on the unloading of an aircraft. One can submit information via the web portal. A link to it is posted on the official website of the Customs Service.

«We draw attention to the fact that imported goods, in relation to which the preliminary information has not been submitted to the customs body, will be referred to goods falling into the risk area. Preliminary information must be provided only in respect of those aircraft which carries is a commercial cargo," the State Customs Service commented.

Since February 12, 2016, customs operations in respect of goods and vehicles imported by road to the customs territory of the EEU are carried out in Kyrgyzstan only after the provision of preliminary information. It can be provided within 30 days, but no later than 2 hours before the importation of goods and vehicles into Kyrgyzstan.
