Tekebayev’s case. Prosecutor General's Office files lawsuit against lawyers
The Prosecutor General’s Office filed a lawsuit against the lawyers of Ata Meken leader Omurbek Tekebayev on the protection of honor and dignity of the President Almazbek Atambayev. The head of the secretariat of the political organization Taalaygul Toktakunova informed 24.kg news agency.
According to her, the head of state was offended by the statement of lawyers at their press conference on March 1. «We voiced the information and showed documents about the contraband cargo belonging to the president’s family,» she said.
Earlier, Ata Meken party members said that they intend to file a lawsuit against the head of state. The Socialists were insulted that Almazbek Atambayev called their party «stinking.»
Omurbek Tekebayev was taken into custody until April 25. He is accused of corruption and fraud.
