Almost half of 45 livestock markets in Kyrgyzstan not meet sanitary requirements
Last year, livestock markets in Kyrgyzstan were fined 160,000 soms for failure to comply with veterinary and sanitary requirements. Deputy Director of the Veterinary Service Bakyt Sharapov announced at a press conference.
In total, there are 45 livestock markets across the republic, 25 of which meet veterinary and sanitary requirements.
Twenty owners were issued notices and 16 were fined.
«There are also 101 slaughterhouses across the country. 15 of them have had their activities temporarily suspended due to non-compliance with requirements. At least 86 slaughterhouses are currently operating. Ten are registered in the EAEU register. Slaughterhouses were fined 225,000 soms in 2023,» Bakyt Sharapov stressed.
For failure to comply with veterinary and sanitary requirements at livestock markets, the Veterinary Service issued letters and orders to the heads of Alamedin, Zhaiyl, Nooken, Aksy, Kochkor, Chon-Alai, Toguz-Toro districts, the mayors of Karakol and Kyzyl-Kiya.
