Over 6.6 tons of drugs seized in Kyrgyzstan in 2023
The internal affairs bodies of Kyrgyzstan seized 6 tonnes 680 kilograms 685 grams of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors from illicit trafficking in 2023. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
According to its data, 1,314 drug crimes were identified, 12 clandestine drug laboratories were liquidated, the activities of 84 criminal drug groups were suppressed, and 120 wanted persons were detained. At least 95 people were prosecuted for drug-related offences.
In addition, facts of legalization of income received from drug trafficking in the amount of more than 15 million soms were revealed. As part of criminal cases, two residential buildings and four cars of drug dealers were arrested.
