Deputy of Bishkek City Council proposes introducing city tax
Deputy Toktosun Sultanov proposed introducing a city tax at a session of the Bishkek City Council.
He noted that this tax will not be collected from residents of the capital, only from foreign citizens. «My colleagues and I travel to foreign countries. When we spend the night in a hotel, there is a city tax,» Toktosun Sultanov explained.
According to him, if the tax is introduced, the city budget will be replenished. Plus, it will be possible to clarify the number of tourists. It is proposed to direct funds to tourist sites and monuments.
«Of course, regarding taxes, this is the prerogative of the Parliament. But if you, Aibek Dzhanyshbekovich (Mayor of Bishkek Aibek Dzhunushaliev — Note of 24.kg news agency), raise this issue at the Cabinet level...» the deputy suggested.
