Deputy of local council of Talas detained for extortion of 4 million soms
A deputy of the local council of Bekmoldo rural area of Talas region was caught red-handed while taking a bribe. The press center of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic (SCNS) reported.
According to it, the deputy extorted 1 million soms from the director of a private company.
Before that, under various threats and intimidation, he demanded 4,200 million soms as an alleged «kickback» of 6 percent of the total amount of the won tender of 67 million soms for laying pipes in Bekmoldo village.
The deputy was detained on suspicion. He was placed in the pre-trial detention center of the SCNS.
A criminal case has been opened. Work continues to identify other persons involved in the aforementioned violations.
