Incidence of whooping cough on rise in Kyrgyzstan
An increase in the incidence of vaccine-preventable diseases is observed in Kyrgyzstan. The bulletin of the Department of Disease Prevention and State Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision says.
According to the department, the incidence of whooping cough increased 34.4 times and measles — 74.2 times for 11 months of 2023. In addition, 11 cases of rubella were registered compared to one case in 2022.
There is also an increase in the incidence of acute and chronic viral hepatitis, influenza, and syphilis.
At the same time, no cases of paratyphoid, diphtheria, or tetanus were registered during this period.
There was a decrease in the incidence of scabies by 37.5 percent, echinococcosis by 11.8 percent, tuberculosis by 6.1 percent, and mumps by 4.2 percent.
