IOC allows athletes from Russia, Belarus to participate in 2024 Olympics
Athletes from Russia and Belarus will be able to compete at the Olympic Games in Paris in a neutral status. This decision was made by the executive committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). The organization’s website says.
Only athletes from individual sports will be able to take part in the Games.
Those who publicly support the invasion of Ukraine and who have a valid contract with the armed forces will not be allowed to participate in the Olympics.
None of the officials and sports officials of Russia and Belarus will be invited to the Olympics.
The 2024 Olympics will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11.
