General Director of Opera and Ballet Theater Almazbek Istambaev detained
Almazbek Istambaev, general director of the Opera and Ballet Theater, was detained. The press center of the State Committee for National Security reported.
According to it, in the course of measures to detect and suppress corruption in the field of leasing activities of the Kyrgyz National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after Abdylas Maldybaev, the fact of abuse of official position was established — signing of long-term lease agreements for state property on the balance sheet of the theater that are obviously unfavorable for the state.
Almazbek Istambaev was placed in the temporary detention center of the State Committee for National Security.
«Investigative and operational measures are being carried out to identify other officials involved in this case and to get compensation for the damage caused,» the state committee added.
