Almost 600 prisoners to be released under amnesty in Kyrgyzstan
Deputies of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan in the third reading approved the bill on amnesty in connection with the 30th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution of the Kyrgyz Republic and the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
According to the initiator of the project, deputy Zhusupbek Korgonbai uulu, if the amnesty is adopted by the Parliament and the president approves it, then about 600 people will be released under the amnesty.
«These are first-time offenders, people with disabilities, people over 65 and single mothers. They will be able to celebrate the New Year with their family,» he said.
Deputy Prosecutor General Umutkan Konkubaeva clarified that the bill does not apply to crimes related to violence against children.
