Competition of akyns-improvisers held in Bishkek
A grandiose show took place in Bishkek — Bilim Aitysh competition of akyns-improvisers. The organizer of the event is Internews in Kyrgyzstan.
The organization notes that akyns — poets-improvisers — are an important part of the cultural code of the Kyrgyz Republic, the voice of the people, traditionally connecting society and government. Since ancient times, akyns played the role of a modern press and, through skillful versification and melodies, conveyed to the rulers the aspirations of ordinary people.
