Co-payment abolished: Parents to pay for meals in kindergartens on their own
A letter from the Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan to the Presidential Administration regarding the payment for meals in kindergartens is sent out on social media. It says that from now on this obligation is imposed on parents.
The Ministry of Finance confirmed this information. According to its data, a new version of the Law on Education was adopted on August 11.
«Article 28, paragraph 6 of this document says that meals in preschool educational organizations are provided at the expense of parents (legal representatives),» the ministry said.
At the same time, the ministry’s spokesperson did not say from what month the allocation of funds for meals in preschool institutions would be stopped.
Earlier, the principle of co-payment was applied in pre-school organizations of the republic: 50 percent was paid by the local authorities and the rest by parents.
