Kyrgyzstan Bank again blocked Bolot Temirov’s accounts in Mbank payment system. The journalist posted on X social media.
«This is the true goal of all deputies who pass laws on foreign agents and the media — to deprive the media of funding so that only state and «their own» media remain. You don’t like grants, so, apparently, the support of the population too. Mbank, isn’t the yoke of the stranglers of freedom of speech pressing on you?» he posted.
As an investigative journalist explained to 24.kg news agency, the bank blocked two accounts of independent media — Temirov Live and Ait Ait Dese.
«We opened it for a private person, collected more than 9,000 soms in a day, the bank blocked it and offered to open it for a foundation so that there would be targeted use. We opened for a foundation last year, they also unilaterally terminated the agreement,» he said.
It is not the first time when Mbank has blocked Bolot Temirov’s accounts.
Kyrgyzstan commercial bank has not yet commented on the situation.
