705 million soms allocated for construction of two prison colonies in Jalal-Abad
As part of the relocation of four facilities of the State Penitentiary Service outside the cities of Bishkek, Osh, Jalal-Abad and Karakol, construction of prison colony No. 10 is underway in Bai-Munduz village, Bazar-Korgon district. The press service of the Penitentiary Service reported.
According to the head of the department, Askat Egemberdiev, there will be five dormitories, a punishment cell, a boiler room, a medical department, an administrative building, a gym, production facilities, buildings for the department’s units for the protection of correctional institutions and the escort of convicts and detainees.
Construction of the pre-trial detention center-53 in Tash-Bulak village, Suzak district, continues.
About 705 million soms were allocated from the state budget for both objects.
The State Penitentiary Service added that design estimates will be developed for a new pre-trial detention center for 2,000 places in Nizhny Nooruz village, Chui region.
