14 tons of gold mined at Kumtor since beginning of the year
At least 14 tons of gold have been mined at Kumtor in 2023. Almaz Baryktabasov, President of Kumtor Gold Company CJSC, announced at a meeting of the Committee on Fuel and Energy Complex, Subsoil Use and Industrial Policy of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan.
Deputies considered implementation of the resolution of the Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic «On the results of work of the temporary deputy commission to study the production and sale of gold, the activities of Kumtor Gold Company CJSC from the moment of its transfer to the ownership of the Kyrgyz Republic.»
Answering a question from deputy Emil Toktoshev, Almaz Baryktabasov noted that about 14.5 tons of gold were mined in 2021, and in 2022 — 17 tons.
