Five new sports included in 2028 Olympic Games programme
Flag football, cricket, lacrosse, squash and baseball/softball have officially entered the programme of the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles (USA). Website of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) says.
Of these, the Olympic programme previously included cricket, lacrosse and baseball/softball.
The decision was made at the 141st session of the IOC.
«The choice of these five new sports is in line with the American sports culture and will showcase iconic American sports to the world, while bringing international sports to the United States. These sports will make the Olympic Games LA28 unique,» IOC President Thomas Bach said.
The Olympic Games in Los Angeles will be held from July 14 to July 30, 2028.
