Osh Mayor awards two-time world champion Akzhol Makhmudov and his coach
Mayor of Osh city Bakytbek Zhetigenov met with Greco-Roman wrestler, two-time world champion and three-time champion of Asia Akzhol Makhmudov. The press service of the City Hall reported.
The mayor congratulated the athlete on his victory at the competitions held in Belgrade (Serbia).
Bakytbek Zhetigenov noted the athlete’s contribution to the development of sports, his achievements and successes in international arenas and presented him with a prize of 500,000 soms, and his coach Mairambek Akhmedov — with 100,000 soms.
It should be noted that at the last World Wrestling Championship in Belgrade, Kyrgyzstan took third place in the team standings among more than 30 countries of the world. Such a result has been achieved for the first time in the history of the republic.
