Children's refusal to support parents to become criminal offense in Kyrgyzstan
The Parliament of Kyrgyzstan approved in the first reading amendments to the Criminal and Family Codes and the Law on State Civil Service and Municipal Service initiated by MP Tazabek Ikramov.
It should be noted that the bill provides for the introduction of a fine of up to 100,000 soms or imprisonment from one to two years for evasion of children from the maintenance of their parents and leaving them in nursing homes.
The initiator also proposes not to hire those who do not take care of their parents for civil service.
Having considered the issue, 71 deputies voted for adoption of the draft amendments in the first reading.
