Transport enterprises to get 327 million soms for passenger transportation
Bishkek City Hall plans to allocate additional 327,742.9 million soms from the budget to municipal transport enterprises. The corresponding draft resolution of the Bishkek City Hall has been submitted for public discussion.
As the background statement says, the approved tariff for travel per passenger does not cover the cost of transportation. It is 19 soms 71 tyiyns in the buses, in the trolleybuses — 19 soms 21 tyiyns.
Thus, the cost of transportation of one passenger exceeds the cost of fare per passenger by 8 soms 71 tyiyns and 8 soms 21 tyiyns respectively, which indicates the unprofitability of municipal transport enterprises.
Recall, the capital authorities intend to increase the fares. Perhaps, they will be increased to 20-22 soms. So far, the municipality does not name the exact amounts and is collecting proposals from all interested parties.
«Auto companies must be profitable. It is impossible to buy new buses every five — ten years and get money from the budget for this. This is not the way it should be,» Bishkek Mayor Emilbek Abdykadyrov said.
