Kyrgyzstani attempts to smuggle $20,900 across the border
Border guards prevented an attempt to illegally smuggle money across the state border at Dostuk-Avtodorozhny checkpoint. The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan reported.
A citizen of the Kyrgyz Republic arrived at the checkpoint on his way to Uzbekistan. During border control, he was found to have a large amount of money — $20,900 (about 1.8 million soms — Note of 24.kg news agency).
The man tried to export currency bypassing customs legislation without declaring it.
The detainee and the money were handed over to the competent authorities for further investigation.
