Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan conduct joint exercises
Joint exercises with live firing of forces and means of the Joint Air Defense System of the CIS member states Combat Commonwealth 2023 are held in Karaganda Oblast. The Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan reported.
In addition to Kazakhstan’s forces and means of air defense, military contingents of the Armed Forces of Kyrgyzstan take part in them. Combat crews of anti-aircraft missile systems have already begun performing combat training missions.
The active phase of the exercises will take place on September 14-15. Air defense crews of Kyrgyzstan will perform practical firing from Pechora 2BM mobile anti-aircraft missile system. It is designed to destroy manned and unmanned means of air attack at short and medium range.
Representatives of the defense departments and air defense forces of Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Uzbekistan will observe the active phase of the exercises.
