Drugs worth almost 25 million soms seized from foreigners in Chui region
A large batch of drugs was found in foreigners’ car in Chui region. Press center of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reported.
20-, 21- and 22-year-old foreign citizens were detained on Manas airport — Bishkek highway near Stepnoye village. Narcotic drug of synthetic origin Mephedrone with a total weight of 4,166 grams was found in their car.
As noted, the market price of a gram of the substance is 6,000 soms. In general, the cost of seized drug reached 24,996 million soms.
A criminal case has been opened under Article 282 «Illegal manufacture, storage, transportation, sending with the purpose of sale of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and their analogs in large amounts».
The detainees were taken to the SCNS pre-trial detention center.
The committee noted that due to the dynamism of the emergence of new types of drugs of synthetic origin and methods of communication (messengers, social media) that ensure anonymity, young people are widely involved in the organization of sale for monetary reward.
The SCNS calls on parents to be vigilant with regard to their children, to take control of their pastime and environment, to constantly conduct explanatory talks.
According to the Criminal Code, such crimes are punishable from the age of 14 for a term from 12 to 15 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property.
