Volume of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan decreases due to gold
Output of industrial production in Kyrgyzstan decreased by 1.8 percent in January — July 2023 after a growth by 0.4 percent at the end of the first half of the year. Weekly report of the Eurasian Development Bank says.
The indicator decreased due to a 5.4 percent reduction in the production of basic metals (mainly gold) and negative dynamics in the energy sector in the conditions of low water period.
«Industrial production was supported by enterprises of the textile sector and mining of metal ores. We believe that the dynamics of industrial production will be volatile in the remaining part of the year and will be determined by the volume of gold production at Kumtor mine,» the statement says.
