Increase in minibuses fare could contribute to rise in prices
The 50 percent increase in minibuses fare in Bishkek could make additional contribution to escalation of inflation in 2021. The National Bank of Kyrgyzstan made such a forecast.
The main external factor influencing the rise in prices this year is continuing global growth of the cost of food products. Therefore, inflation is forecast at around 7 percent at the end of the year.
«In 2022, taking into account the expected slowdown in the growth of prices in the world commodity markets, the average inflation rate is expected to be about 2 percent and by the end of the year it will reach about 3 percent,» the National Bank said.
