Border conflict. Construction of fence in disputed area stopped
Situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the border, where a verbal skirmish between citizens of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan occurred, is stable. The State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic informed 24.kg news agency.
Following a meeting of representatives of both countries, a decision was made to stop work on undemarcated sections of the border until the intergovernmental commission for delimitation and demarcation determines its line.
«The people dispersed after awareness-raising activities. There are no crowds of people on both sides. The situation on this section of the Kyrgyz-Tajik state border is stable,» the State Border Service said.
