Sadyr Japarov’s release. Amnesty request submitted to prosecutor’s office
The Supreme Court of Kyrgyzstan overturned a decision of the Alamedin District and Chui Regional Courts on refusal to grant an amnesty to ex-MP Sadyr Japarov. An activist Melis Aspekov told 24.kg news agency.
According to him, the Supreme Court decided to send the petition of Sadyr Japarov’s lawyers for amnesty to the special prosecutor’s office.
Melis Aspekov added that the collection of signatures for release of the ex-deputy continues. There are about 400,000 of them already. They will be sent to the President Sooronbai Jeenbekov.
Recall, courts of all instances sentenced Sadyr Japarov to 11 years and 6 months in a prison colony for complicity in organizing a rally in Karakol in 2013. He was convicted under Article 227 «Hostage-taking» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
