Kyrgyz-Russian Suleiman Mountain film wins Grand Prix at Movement festival
Suleiman Mountain film, directed by Elizaveta Stishova, won the main prize of the 6th National Festival of Debut Films Movement-2018. The website of the festival says.
The main competition program of the film forum, which was held in Omsk, included 29 films.
The film was also awarded a special prize of TV-3 channel. It will support the movie, and then will show it.
Suleiman Mountain is a great film, a story from modern life. The main character, Karabas, is 45 years old, he is a professional swindler and a bigamist. He is officially married to Zhypara, a market fortune-teller and healer. Their son Uluk would have turned 11. But at the age of four, when Karabas was in prison, Uluk disappeared from a children’s hospital without a trace. The main character stayed with Zhypara out of pity, but compassion does not prevent him from loving Turganbyubyu.
