U.S. dollar rises in price by 35 tyiyns for week in Kyrgyzstan
U.S. dollar has risen in price by 35 tyiyns for a week in Kyrgyzstan.
Today, the capital’s exchange offices and commercial banks buy the dollar for 69.1-69.2 soms and sell — for 69.4-69.5 soms. Nominal rate set by the National Bank is 69.05 soms (0.04 percent drop for a day).
The American currency has been fluctuating since mid-August. Then it began to rise in price sharply against the background of reports about devaluation of the Russian ruble and Kazakh tenge. The situation stabilized after an intervention of the National Bank, but in early September the U.S. currency began to appreciate again and almost reached the level of 70 soms. The National Bank again intervened by selling dollars.
