Leader of SDPK, Almazbek Atambayev, made an appeal in connection with the 25^th anniversary of SDPK party.

According to him, the fate of SDPK is inextricably linked with the history of Kyrgyzstan.

«We defended the interests of the people, worked for their benefit, advocated for freedom and justice. And for this our party members were subjected to cruel persecution, dismissed from work, beaten and even killed under the family-clan regimes. But we can not be broken or intimidated. During the past eight years, SDPK has played a leading role in our society. Kyrgyzstan has succeeded as a state and is no longer considered as a poor country. Energy security is ensured. Today, we are very close to achieving transport independence, have built anew and reconstructed an unprecedented number of highways. Kyrgyzstan has a combat-ready and provided with the most necessary army. Kyrgyzstan has learned to defend its national interests in the international arena. And no one can call Kyrgyzstan a failed state,» Almazbek Atambayev believes.

Almazbek Atambayev admitted that he had made mistakes in personnel appointments.

«In recent years, members of our party have largely influenced personnel policy and made mistakes. I made many staffing mistakes myself. Proximity to power makes any party tempting for «clingy» and unscrupulous careerists. This also affected the SDPK. We did not manage to get rid of such personnel in time. History has repeatedly put the SDPK to a difficult choice. And we found the right solutions. However, the current stage of cleansing and renewal is perhaps the most difficult, painful,» the appeal says.

He suggests to conduct an in-depth analysis of the party’s activities, summarizing the positive experience, comprehending what has been achieved and drawing conclusions from the mistakes made.

Almazbek Atambayev is aimed at saving the party from «clingy» and random fellow travelers, to ensure the influx of new forces into the party.
