Representatives of IMF arrive in Kyrgyzstan
Visit of the mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), headed by Christian Josz, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan on September 19, will last until October 3. The official website of the National Bank of the country says.
The purpose of the visit is to discuss the content and conditions of a new possible program, supported by the IMF. During the visit, meetings with representatives of the government, the National Bank and other organizations will take place. In particular, a meeting of the acting Chairman of the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan Nurbek Zhenish with representatives of IMF mission took place on September 20, during which the parties discussed prospects for further cooperation.
In 2015-2018, Kyrgyzstan’s cooperation with the IMF was carried out within the framework of the agreement on a three-year economic program — the Extended Credit Facility (ECF). The goal of the program was to achieve stability of the budget and debt situation, ensure stability in the financial sector and carry out structural reforms to increase the potential for economic growth.
