Helicopter crash. General Staff dismisses commander of military unit
Commander of military unit 23565 Saparali Bekmurzayev, where the Air Defense Forces air base is located, was dismissed. Own sources informed 24.kg news agency.
Vladimir Vereshchagin, Deputy Commander of the unit, was also removed from his post.
The press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic confirmed this information. According to the department, Colonel Saparali Bekmurzayev and Colonel Vladimir Vereshchagin were suspended from work until the end of investigation.
«We must wait for the results. Measures will be taken against these persons,» the General Staff told.
Recall, on July 9, the helicopter carried out a search operation and went off the radar. The press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic specified that the helicopter of the Air Defense Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic Mi-8 MTV crashed during a rescue operation on the South Inylchek.
As a result of the crash, six people were injured — three servicemen and three tourists. The military prosecutor’s office opened a criminal case.
