Belyaninov: People are afraid of investing in dollars
«People are afraid of investing in dollars and euros. Everyone wants to work in national currencies,» Andrey Belyaninov, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), said today at the Eurasian Media Congress in Almaty (Kazakhstan).
According to him, the situation in the Eurasian space is extremely advantageous now because of the sanctions imposed on Russia. Tools and structures have already been created that allow to look to the future with optimism, including EDB.
«Today we are able to create a regional unit of account. I believe that this should be the ruble. We have a deficit in the bank now, because there is a demand for local currencies. People are afraid of investing in dollars and euros. Everyone wants to work in national currencies,» Andrey Belyaninov concluded.
