The damage from the British Defence Attaché robbery amounted to about 500,000 soms. The Internal Affairs Department for Issyk-Kul region informed 24.kg news agency.
A camera, lens and a video camera were reportedly stolen.
«Defence Attaché of the Embassy of Great Britain in Astana, Andrew Holton, applied to the police with a statement today. He pointed out that he had been stolen valuable belongings from his backpack. It turned out that Andrew Holton installed a tent outside the zone guarded by the police on September 3. Earlier, he was warned that it was necessary to stay in a yurt for foreigners in Kyrchyn ethnic camp, but he did not do so. On September 4, he left his property unattended and went away. The diplomat noticed the signs of theft on the morning of September 5,» the Internal Affairs Department reported.
The department noted that a criminal case was opened on theft charges.
