City authorities ready to create New Bishkek
The city authorities are ready to support projects aimed at transforming the urban space. The Speaker of the Bishkek City Council Almaz Kenenbaev said at the ceremony of summarizing the results of the contest of city projects New Bishkek.
«Participation of citizens in the life of the city, interesting projects are very necessary. We are ready to discuss and support interesting ideas that will be useful for Bishkek,» he said.
Coordinator of the city projects competition Nazik Mamasadykova noted that the event was held for the second time. «In 2018, three new directions were determined: open public spaces, public art and IT solutions. At least 88 applications were received, 29 were admitted to online voting. Citizens selected 12 projects. Today, the expert commission will choose a winner in each nomination,» she said.
The main goal of the competition is to transform the urban space, demonstrate the architecture solutions, digital technologies, creative component, solve the problems that the townspeople see, and establish such a bridge between the civil sector, commercial structures, city authorities and citizens.
It is planned to hold the event annually.
