Possibility of raising pension age discussed in Kyrgyzstan
«A project on raising the pension age for privileged categories of citizens is being considered,» the Chairman of the Social Fund, Meder Irsaliyev, told 24.kg news agency.
According to him, raising of the pension age for all categories of citizens is out of question. There are people in the country, who by law can retire, for example, at the age of 45 and 50. Their retirement age may be raised.
«We just discuss this issue so far. There will be no rise in the pension age in the near future,» Meder Irsaliyev assured.
Recall, on June 16, the Russian government submitted to the State Duma a package of bills on changes in the pension system. They provide for a gradual rise in the pension age to 65 for men (by 2028) and to 63 for women (by 2034). The rise is proposed to be carried out gradually starting from 2019.
