IMF mission arrives in Kyrgyzstan to study state of economy
The mission of the International Monetary Fund began its work in Kyrgyzstan. The website of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic says.
The purpose of the visit is to discuss the latest trends in the country’s economy, the implementation of the state budget for 2018 and prospects for the near future.
Meetings of IMF representatives with members of the government, the National Bank and other financial organizations will take place. The visit will last until July 9.
The Extended Credit Facility program was completed in April without a final review by the IMF.
The question how Kyrgyzstan and the fund would cooperate further remained open. The Kyrgyz authorities reported that they were negotiating with the IMF, but nothing is known about the results so far.
