9 people in Bazar-Korgon hospitalized with suspected anthrax
At least nine people were hospitalized with suspected anthrax in Bazar-Korgon district. The Deputy Director of Jalal-Abad Regional Center of Family Medicine Gulnara Mamatalieva confirmed the information to 24.kg news agency.
According to her, one of the residents bought a cow about a week ago, which was sick. The animal was slaughtered and divided among the villagers, some people ate the meat.
«As of today, nine people have been hospitalized, six of them are men and three — women, with suspected dermal form of anthrax. All of them are the adults. Tests have already been taken, family doctors and nurses visit the households. They identify all the people in contact and give them pills as a preventive measure. Those, who are in hospital, receive treatment, all medicines in the required quantity are available,» Gulnara Mamatalieva informed.
