Tekebayev's lawyers appeal refusal to review his case
Lawyer Taalaigul Toktakunova filed a statement to Oktyabrsky District Court of Bishkek against the decision of the Prosecutor General’s Office, which refused to review the criminal case against the ex-parliament member Omurbek Tekebayev on newly discovered circumstances. She informed 24.kg news agency.
According to her, the arguments of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic are unreasonable. The date of the trial is not set so far.
Omurbek Tekebayev was convicted on August 16, 2017. The Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek sentenced him to eight years in prison on corruption charges.
