Kyrgyzstan to abolish interdistrict courts
Two expert working groups have been formed to draft bills, providing for the abolition of interdistrict courts with the transfer of their functions to district courts, as well as mechanisms for reimbursement of damage by perpetrators, taking into account the current limitation period for criminal prosecution. The presidential press service reported.
The groups include representatives of the executive and judicial branches of government, the supervisory and law enforcement agencies of Kyrgyzstan, as well as the expert community.
The issue on the abolition of interdistrict courts was raised by the head of state Sooronbai Jeenbekov at a meeting of the Council for Judicial Reform on May 17.
