Financial intelligence detects 8 operations on suspected financing of terrorism
The State Financial Intelligence Service in 2017 detected 8 operations on suspected financing of terrorism and extremism. The Chairman of the service Aibek Kadyraliev said this at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on law and order, crime and corruption control.
According to him, in 2017, at least 141 financial intelligence operations were conducted, 11 criminal cases were initiated on them. Eight materials were sent to the State Committee for National Security and the Ministry of Internal Affairs on suspicion of financing terrorism and extremism.
In 2016, according to financial intelligence, 45 criminal cases have been opened. «In the same year, the court delivered a decision on seven cases on the financing of terrorism and extremism,» said Aibek Kadyraliev.
