Mudflows flood houses in Batken region
Mudflows flooded the houses in several villages of Batken region. Residents of Internatsional village told 24.kg news agency.
Readers sent a video, which shows a large stream of water, flowing down the street. It is noted that the same situation is in Lyailak region on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.
The press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that a mudslide hit Lyailak district on May 13 at approximately 4.33 pm as a result of heavy rains. At about 5.15 pm, the mudflow flooded two houses in Chimgen village. Special equipment was used to eliminate the consequences of the disaster.
In addition, the Ministry of Emergency Situations noted that a house and a children’s orphanage was flooded in Isfana town.
In Aksuu and Karakamar villages, mudflow flooded four kilometers of the road, resulting in the death of the cattle and demolishing two electric poles. Aksuu, Choyunchu, and Zharkyshtak villages were left without electricity.
