Kyrgyzstan's state debt to reach 55 percent of GDP by end of 2018
According to forecasts, the state debt of Kyrgyzstan by the end of 2018 will reach 55 percent of GDP. The annual report of the Asian Development Bank says.
It is noted that in 2019 the figure will reach 56 percent. At the same time, ADB stresses that despite the improvement of debt sustainability, vulnerability to external and internal risks remains.
«Kyrgyzstan is seen as a country with a moderate level of debt burden risk due to vulnerability to the stability of the currency and the possible deterioration in the financial state of the budget,» the report said.
The Ministry of Finance plans to increase the threshold of public debt to GDP ratio to 70 percent. The Ministry of Economy does not consider this as a problem, because Kyrgyzstan does not violate agreements with creditors.
