«The leaders of the energy industry must think of their job, thoroughly know all the problems of the industry and in a critical situation be able to take responsibility without shifting it to others,» said the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev at a working meeting on the results of the autumn-winter period 2017/18.

The Chairman of the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use, Ulan Ryskulov, stated that, except for the emergency situation at Bishkek Heating and Power Plant on January 25, the heating season was stable.

However, the Prime Minister noted that exactly this accident revealed systemic problems in the energy sector. Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev is sure that honest, qualified specialists should come to the industry, who will cope with the tasks set for preparing for the heating season.

«The time has come to establish order in this sphere, to ensure financial transparency of the energy companies’ work, so that energy sector to become an effective branch of the economy. The president of the country set a concrete task for the government — to identify all the corrupt officials and cleanse the industry of them. This instruction will be carried out despite the resistance of certain groups of people, who got used to enriching themselves by theft of the national property, which, of course, is energy sector,» Mukhammedkaly Abylgaziev stressed.

He noted that the leadership of ministries and departments responsible for the energy sector must eliminate defects at Bishkek HPP and ensure uninterrupted supply of hot water and heat to apartments and houses of citizens in the coming winter.

The Chairman of the State Committee of Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use, Ulan Ryskulov, was instructed to intensify work in the development of the coal industry and the mining industry, to intensify the awareness-raising campaign among the residents of the areas, where mining of mineral resources is planned or is carried out.
