Mayor of Jalal-Abad Salaidin Avazov arrested
The day before, the Pervomaisky District Court of Bishkek chose a preventive measure in the form of detention for the Mayor of Jalal-Abad Salaidin Avazov. The press service of the State Committee for National Security reported.
Salaidin Avazov, the former general director of Electric Stations JSC, and Zholdoshbek Nazarov, former deputy general director of Electric Stations JSC, were reportedly charged with corruption within the criminal case, initiated by the Prosecutor General’s Office, on corruption in the implementation of Modernization of Bishkek HPP project.
Zholdoshbek Nazarov will also be under arrest till the end of the investigation.
The former head of Energy Holding Company Aibek Kaliev was also arrested on charges of corruption.
