Ala-Archa river still being cleared of snow and ice jams
Employees of the municipal enterprise Bishkekzelenkhoz together with the Ministry of Emergency Situations clear the riverbed of Ala-Archa river on Ryskulov Street of ice and snow jams. Bishkek City Administration reported.
According to it, 17 units of special equipment are involved. «There is an ice and snow jam at this site. Dams of loose damp sand and sandbags were set up along the banks of the river to prevent flooding of the nearest houses,» the City Administration reported.
City authorities assured that the state of Ala-Archi and Alamedin riverbeds are monitored constantly.
Yesterday, Ala-Archa river burst its banks in the area of Maldybaev Street nearly injuring cars standing nearby.
