Local coal falls in price by 8 percent in 2018
From December 29, 2017 to January 12, 2018 local coal in Kyrgyzstan fell in price by 7.44 percent, or by 361.3 soms. The Ministry of Economy reported.
Imported coal reportedly also became more affordable. Its price decreased by 54.17 soms, or by 1.13 percent. In general, since the beginning of the year, there has been a decline in prices for a number of food and non-food items.
For example, there was observed a decline in prices for such goods as local rice (by 0.13 soms), butter (by 1.76 soms), sugar (by 0.23 soms), vegetable oil (by 0.17 soms), lamb (2.97 som), beef (by 0.55 soms), salt (by 0.04 soms) and cement (by 1.57 soms).
In mid-November 2017, the State Agency for Antimonopoly Regulation set a maximum level of retail prices for coal for each region, Bishkek and Osh.
