About a million people have no access to clean drinking water in Kyrgyzstan
About a million of people in Kyrgyzstan do not have access to clean drinking water. Report of the Ombudsman of Kyrgyzstan Kubat Otorbaev says.
According to the Ombudsman, the current situation with water supply in Kyrgyzstan cannot be called favorable.
«After the liquidation of collective and state farms, rural drinking water supply systems for more than 10 years were abandoned that led to a deterioration in their technical condition and a complete stop in most of the country’s villages. Today there are 1,891 settlements in the country, including 1,805 villages,» the Ombudsman said.
