Do Kyrgyzstanis expect significant changes under Sooronbai Jeenbekov?
Coalition for Democracy and Civil Society NGO held a nationwide telephone poll on November 10-18 to measure the political mood of the Kyrgyz population after the election of a new president.
In the opinion of 39.7 percent of respondents, the country will develop rapidly after December 1, 2017, when Jeenbekov will assume office of the head of state.
The positive mood of the population significantly reduced in comparison with the results of the poll conducted in September before the elections.
«According to the results of the September poll, 57.6 percent of respondents believed that the situation in the country would change for the better after the election of the new president. Only 12.5 percent of respondents were skeptical and noted that there would not be any changes in the country after the election of the new president,» the report says.
5.1 percent of respondents noted that they do not expect anything from the new president.
Activists questioned 738 people.
