Two states fully ratify Customs Code of EEU

Two states have already fully ratified the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). The Eurasian Economic Commission reported.

According to it, Belarus and Russia have already adopted and approved the Customs Code by the lower and upper chambers of the legislative bodies of the authorities of these countries — the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation. The Parliament of Kazakhstan — Majilis — also approved the document. In Armenia, it was approved by the Constitutional Court of the Republic and passes the procedure of ratification in the National Assembly of the country. In Kyrgyzstan, the document is under consideration in the Parliament.

The Customs Code of EEU will replace the Customs Union Code effective from the middle of 2010. It legally secures the possibility for a participant of foreign economic activity in the presence of an electronic digital signature to make the majority of operations from his computer through the Internet, interacting with the information system of a customs body.

«Joint statement of the heads of EEU member states signed on October 11, 2017 noted that the date of the entry into force of the Customs Code will not be postponed. Citizens, economic agents and state bodies of the Union countries need to prepare for work under the new conditions, in advance focusing on the new Customs Code of EEU,» EEC stressed.
